THIS IS A TRUE 1985 1/2 FORD MUSTANG SVO AND ONLY 439 OF THEM WERE PRODUCED! I purchased the car in 2005 from a young engineer at Ford who had bought the car in 1994 from Arizona where it originally came from according to the window sticker. He then registered the car in Michigan (this is where his parents lived). Over the next 11 years he spent over $11,000.00 on NOS parts and restoration of the exterior, body and braking system of the car and only drove the car about 1000 miles. The car has been restored on the outside and is a 10 out of a 10. Every molding and light have been replaced on the car with NOS parts. The body had no rust to start with, the underside of the car has very minor rust staining on some of the seams. The interior of the car is a 9 1/2 out of a 10. Who ever buys this car - if you want it to be a complete restoration, all you will need to buy is a NOS shifter knob which will run around $200.00 on E-Bay. The engine runs good, the clutch is new and I just replaced the battery with a new one. The car does have the proper Good year Gator Back size and style tires which are impossible to get anymore - they are brand new and have not seen the road. The car also still has the Koni shocks on it. This car just needs the engine and engine compartment detailed to make it a complete restoration. The documentation that will come with the car consists of the original window sticker, the build sheet and the owners manual as well as some receipts for miscellaneous parts that the previous owner bought. This car is perfect for the person who wants to do an SVO restoration but does not want to go throught the aggrevation of dealing with the body work or getting the NOS parts (which are expensive and almost impossible to get). The reason I am selling this car is so that I can concentrate on the restoration of the 46 mile 1986 SVO that I bought (see Mustang Monthly Magazine September 2006 - "The car that doesn't exist").
