I have done, and have had done (meaning professionally with receipts) a lot of mechanical work and new/rebuilt parts put into this car.
Here's a breakdown of what's been done to the car:
Complete Bottom End rebuild with all new parts/pistons/gaskets/seals etc. This work was done professionally by a well respected local engine builder who specializes in classic/race/muscle motors. Block was obviously magna-fluxed and checked without and issues found.
Complete Head rebuild and valve job, again with all new springs/valves/hydraulic lifters. This work was also performed by a local professional machine shop. Again, Head was checked for any warpage or flatness issues, none found.
Top and Bottom end were joined with a new Head Gasket.
The Turbo itself was again rebuilt at a local professional shop that specializes in rebuilding turbo units, shaft/impeller was checked without any issues and new bearings and fittings installed.
The Turbo and Exhaust Manifold were bolted to the engine again, with new gaskets. The Exhaust Manifold was blasted and painted with 2000 degree black paint to keep it from turning to rust color.
Intake Manifold (2 piece) was bolted to the engine again with new gaskets.
Radiator was flushed and pressure tested and new Radiator Cap installed.
The Engine ECU was sent out and professionally reconditioned to meet OEM specifications #E5ZF-12A650-E3A, if you know SVO's you know this is the one to have.
Here's a list of the other parts and/or components that are new, when I say new I mean within the last 300 miles:
